Georgia Character
Education

The Georgia General Assembly believes that Character Education is important.  House Bill 605 implemented comprehensive character education programs for all grade levels at the beginning of the 2000 - 2001 school year.

This comprehensive character education program focuses on 27 character traits that include: courage, patriotism, citizenship, honesty, fairness, respect for others, kindness, cooperation, self-respect, self-control, courtesy, compassion, tolerance, diligence, generosity, punctuality, cleanliness, cheerfulness, school pride, respect for the environment, respect for the creator, patience, creativity, sportsmanship, loyalty, perseverance, and virtue.

- Pride and belief in one's self and in achievement of one's potential

- The ability to be counted on and trusted

- Truthfulness and sincerity
